STMA Youth Lacrosse participates in The Great Northern Lacrosse LEAGUE (GNLL)

Participating teams play regular season games throughout the season(s) and the league provides the following for each game:
    •    Certified Officials
    •    Certified EMT's equipped with AED's 
    •    Professional Site Managers / Scorekeepers
    •    Mobile-responsive schedules, statistics, and standings. 

Recreation Indoor League - No Competition Play - 6U and Younger

*6U players wishing to play Competition should register for 8U*

Players participate in a total of 6 recreational sessions where they actively participate in skill practices to teach the fundamentals of Lacrosse.  Minimal gear required.  

Practices - No Games will be played

Thursdays 6pm in May and June @ TBD Outdoor Field   

Cost: FREE (but USA Lacrosse Registration Required)

Boys/Girls Youth LaX Spring Field League - 8U/10U/12U/14U

• 10/12U Girls - OPEN
• 8U Coed - CLOSED 
• 10U boys, 12U boys, 14U boys - CLOSED 

Regular Game Season: Saturday, April 13th- June 5, 2024; Games primarily played on Sat/Sun with limited weekday games available starting early June. Off on May 25-26th for Memorial Day.

Spring Youth State Tournament:

• Boys/Coed: Friday-Sunday, June 7-9th @ Fernbrook Fields, Maple Grove 

• Girls : Spring Youth State Tournament: Friday-Sunday, May 31-June 2, 2024, Location TBD

Practices

Monday's  and Thursdays  -  Starting April 1st in dome then transitioning to Middle School West when dome is done until outdoor grass fields become available 

Cost: up to  $350 (includes uniform) dependent on division - see cost table for additional reference. 

Youth Pre-Season Modified Indoor Field League (aka "Box") - 10U/12U/14U

*8U players wishing to play Competition should register for 10U*

Participating teams play 6 regular season games throughout March & April at conveniently located regional indoor arenas. Games run hourly on Saturdays & Sundays and consist of three 15-minute periods. 

Regular Game Season: 6 weeks- Saturday & Sundays, March 9  - April 14, 2024. *Off on March 31st for Easter. Games run between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

Locations:
- Northeast: Northeast Ice Arena
- Southeast: Eagan Civic Arena 
- Northwest: Anoka Ice Arena 
- Southwest: Hopkins Pavilion / St. Louis Park ROC (Opens March 23)

Practices

Starting February 5th - Monday's @ 7pm and Thursdays 6pm in Feb - 7pm  in March @ STMA DOME

Cost: $350 (includes uniform)

BOYS/GIRLS YOUTH LAX FALL FIELD LEAGUE - 8U/10U/12U/14U

Season specifics:

• Fall lacrosse games are on Sunday's between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  Games are scheduled to begin September  and run thru the end-of-season tournament in October.  
• Practices will begin in August  at the Upper Rec Fields in St. Michael or a different identified field as follows:
  • 10U Co-ed - Monday/Wednesday from 6-7:00pm
  • 12U Boys - Monday/Wednesday from 6-7:30pm
  • 12U Girls - Tuesday/Thursday from 6-7:00pm
  • 14U Boys - Monday/Thursday from 6-7:30pm
• Times, Dates, & Locations are Subject to Change. Please Check Sports Engine App for updates as applicable during the season. 

Age Eligibility

The age requirements for each division 6U-14U are below. Each team has two USA Lacrosse age groups (i.e. 8U team is 7U and 8U in USA Lacrosse). If you are interested in playing up/down, please contact vice-president@stmalax.com to request a waiver. Waivers are dictated by league rules and are not guaranteed. 

UNIFORM:

New uniforms were designed for the 2024 season.  Registration costs include uniforms for those registering for competitive pay.

LATE REGISTRATION:

Late Registrations may be subject to STMA Lax Board approval and will only be accepted if team rosters have not yet been filled.

ALL PLAYERS REQUIRE A CURRENT US LACROSSE MEMBERSHIP VALID THROUGH APRIL 1, 2024. Go to  https://www.uslacrosse.org/ to RENEW or LOOKUP YOUR MEMBER NUMBER. A FEE IS REQUIRED TO REGISTER & TO RENEW A MEMBERSHIP.
